You can’t wake up, If you don’t dream….

It’s very rare that I completely back an album or a band. Or completely blown away by a record. Music to me has become nothing more than background music while I work. I hardly notice it and at times I’ll subconsciously drum along to a song, but inevitably in the end, it’s all noise. I have about 25 albums on my itunes/ipod, which are all incomplete. Because, again, there’s hardly an album that completely blows me away. Even some of my favorite bands of all time have a song or 2 that fits into the “meh” category. I think the last real album I loved start to finish, was probably New Found Glory’s, “Not Without a Fight”. To me that is just a fun album, that I can find myself relating to. But this particular album, the whole reason for this mind rambling blog post, is because this album, just completely floored me. I’ve heard this band’s name through friends, and never took the time to give them a chance. When I heard Warped Tour was streaming the album, I took the chance and dove in feet first, and I am completely glad I did. This album is perfect in every way. The instruments, the strings, the added extras, tambourines, lyrics, vocals, the song line up and continuity, the artwork. I can’t speak highly enough of this album. I’ve honestly been listening to it non stop while I’ve been at home. It is flawless for every season (I know I’m not the only one out there who has playlists by seasons, C’MON!). The feeling I get when I listen to this record, is comparable to placing your hand out a moving car window and letting the wind just take it over and guide it, the air whisping through the fingers is the music entering your ears. It’s that good. It’s one of those records that feels like it fits in a movie, a night drive, or even I lay in bed mind clearer, or in my case, something to listen to while I work that isn’t just NOISE. This record, is Moving Mountains, “Waves”.
