WELCOME… TO WRESTLEMANIA!

Every year for the past 4 years I’ve gone to wrestlemania. 3 of the 4 I’ve gone with my dad and we’ve sat ringside. Pretty lucky and awesome experience. It’s probably one of the only things I really get excited for anymore. I don’t know if it’s me getting old or what. I feel like it’s something I can carry on, onto my own kids. Hopefully they like wrestling, even if they don’t still dragging them there. I am especially excited for next year as it will be in Miami and it’s looking like it will be an open arena again. Wrestlemania 24 in Orlando was great for that reason alone. Here’s a picture i found that best showcases how it looked. I did not take this picture, no way I would pay to sit that high, haha.

I think the thing that I look forward to most about going to Wrestlemania, or any trip for that matter. Is researching for places to eat. I didn’t get to try everything I wanted to. But I scoped out Vortex the first night. I knew what I was getting the second I knew I wanted to go there. This place is pretty close to the theme and look of Kumas in Chicago, except not as packed. On the menu, they had the craziest most intriguing, and probably disgusting sounding to anyone else burger. THE ELVIS BURGER. Burger, Bacon, grilled plantains and a massive scoop of peanut butter. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this beast, but I wanted to try it anyway. It wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever had, but it was pretty delicious. I wanted to get a picture, but it was so damn dark in there. One thing I loved the most about visiting Atlanta was the fact they have sweet tea. You never realize how amazing something is until you no longer have access to it. For some reason I must have deleted a good chunk of my food pictures. SUCKS! The next day, my dad and I had BBQ, by complete accident. We went to check out this taco place that had all these rave reviews. But, once we got there, the place was dead and the menu sounded like shit. Right next door was a BBQ place that had scrumpcious smells fuming from it. Which now I can’t remember the name of, DAMN! probably the best BBQ I’ve ever had. BRISKET! There was a bunch of flops during the trip. I wasn’t a fan of Glady and Ron’s Chicken and Waffles, which had a line, over some meh food. CRAZY! Mellow Mushroom is overrated, this frozen yogurt place and this other mexican place who’s sweet tea tasted like the inside of a fish’s dirty asshole, YUCK! and Grindhouse Burgers was closed. I was looking forward to going there the most. I think hands down the best places I visited was Sublime Donuts. Place was awesome. The decor may have not been top notch and I feel like they could have gone crazy and done a lot more cooler things with, was all overlooked by the amazingness that they created. They have a ton of different varieties. Offhand I remember trying. Butterfinger, Grasshopper, Reese Peanut Butter Cup, White Chocolate, Double Chocolate, Banana Chocolate. No, not all at once, OVER THE SPAN OF 3 DAYS! Here’s a photo of some of the delights. In this photo it’s the white chocolate, Banana Chocolate and the Peanut Butter Cup. I wish this place delivered / did mail order. So damn good….

Enough of the food and onto the MAINEVENT, WRESTLEMANIA! I have to say, this was probably one of the worst years I ever went, or even watched. The Rock being there was awesome. The Punk / Orton Match was awesome. Even the Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio Match was pretty damn good. But the rest of the show was awful. Don’t get me wrong the HHH vs Undertaker match was good, but not great. For the past 2 years I watch Undertaker face Shawn Michaels in some of the best matches ever. Then you have this craptastic bout. They didn’t give fans what they wanted. It was false finish, after false finish, only to have HHH tap out. The fans want to count along and scream and be on their feet when it hits 3! Such a bummer. I think everyone wanted HHH to attack Undertaker after, but it didnt happen. The stage was cool and I really liked all the intros and entrances. I think that HHH’s entrance was better than the match itself. OG Metallica was awesome. In all honesty, RAW the next night was better than Wrestlemania. Although, leaving RAW was pretty insane. My dad and I were conversing about how shitty Wrestlemania was and how great RAW was compared to it, and I look over to my left and see a mass amount of people running, I said to my dad “What the hell are they running for?” and WOOOOSSHHHH a massive tornado hit and all of a sudden this ridiculous rain storm followed. It was honestly one of the most insane things I had ever seen. Those people were running like in Cloverfield. I was shocked to be seconds later covered in a mass amount of rain, and wake up sick as hell the next day. I was pretty disappointed with everything Wrestlemania related that weekend. This year, instead of being lucky and just ending up with ringside tickets, I ordered the WWE package. Which included a lot of great things and value. But the hotel sucked, and AXXESS is more for kids and mega fans. I am a wrestling fan, but not a walk around with my championship belt replica and outdated stone cold steve austin shirt. I can barely make it through 2 hours of RAW anymore. It’s definitely for the mega fan or little kids. After all I did get to meet, Rtruth, Diesel, Kelly Kelly and Randy Orton because of it, and got autographs, but I have no use for that stuff. I just like watching it. Like I said. I can’t wait for next year in Miami, hopefully better food, an outside arena and the sun will make up for such a lousy year.
